Typically, current sophomores and juniors apply to be an NHS member in late November to early December for admission the following school year.

2 in school extracurricular activities,

2 out of school service activities,

3 teacher recommendations and a

3.6 unweighted (or 4.2 weighted) GPA are usually the requirements for consideration into the society.
